Daylight Robbery
(Mar 2002)

See the lovers in the car park
Stealing moments when they can,
That's just human nature some may say;
Like the junkie at the bus stop
Stealing money from a purse
To help him get through just another day.

There's a squirrel in the garden
Stealing peanuts from the birds,
Surely that's just Mother Nature's way;
Just as cancer takes the body,
Stealing goodness, leaving pain
And suntanned skin that's turned a sallow grey.

There's an anger and a hatred
Stealing people's right to live,
A hatred that will never go away
And the clock just keeps on ticking,
Stealing moments from our lives -
A little more is stolen everyday.

Daylight Robbery
(Mar 2002)

See the lovers in the car park
Stealing moments when they can,
That's just human nature some may say;
Like the junkie at the bus stop
Stealing money from a purse,
His next fix now is not so far away.

There's a squirrel in the garden
Stealing peanuts from the birds,
Surely that's just Mother Nature's way;
Just as cancer takes the body,
Stealing goodness, leaving pain
And suntanned skin that's turned a sallow grey.

There's an anger and a hatred
Stealing people's right to live,
A hatred that will never go away
And the clock just keeps on ticking,
Stealing moments from our lives -
A little more is stolen everyday.
